RDG traffic-light model
Technical facts
Document the damage, vehicle status, calculation, evidence and operational status.
Review and handover
Complete the record, identify technical differences and prepare a handover without performing a legal assessment.
Legal assessment and enforcement
Liability, legal correspondence, negotiation and enforcement remain with authorised legal professionals.
The model describes role boundaries in the German operating context and does not provide individual legal advice.
Days to Cash
The metric becomes meaningful only when start point, end point, partial payments, disputed balances and exclusions are clearly defined. Median values by claim type are usually more robust than one overall average.
Route → File → Evidence → Escalation → Leadership
- Classify the claim type, role, payment route and approval status.
- Create one leading digital file with mandatory information and tasks.
- Connect every relevant position to evidence.
- Define when the case moves to an assessor, legal professional or management.
- Review open issues, file quality, processing time and cash receipt.
Measurement definitions
“About two minutes” refers to the period from the start of scanning a readable vehicle-registration document to a prepared repair-cost authorisation when all required customer data are available. Dispatch, customer queries and external processing times are excluded.
Source standard
Legal statements are checked against official sources. Technical requirements rely on competent institutions and manufacturer specifications. Practice and model values are labelled as such and are not presented as general market statistics.
